The Peak Centre - Living Space

The Peak Centre at Champion House offers comfortable, warm and welcoming accommodation maintained to a high standard. The accommodation is offered in two wings, John Champion Barn sleeping up to 26 people (minimum charge for 22), and Grindslow Wing sleeping up to 20 people (minimum charge for 15). You have exclusive use of your part of the Centre if you are a small group and of the whole Centre if you are a large one

The bedrooms in John Champion Barn have a maximum of 5 beds and plenty of space to put your belongings. Duvets, pillows, sheets and pillow cases are provided.

Disabled Access: John Champion Barn has a platform lift to give access to the lower areas, a disabled toilet/shower room and (given notice) we can adapt bedrooms to enable the use of a hoist (which you would need to supply). Please contact us with your specific needs - we always try to think of the best solution.

John Champion Barn has an open fire for which coal is provided free of charge.

Grindslow Wing

The bedrooms in Grindslow have a maximum of 4 beds and plenty of space to put your belongings. Duvets, pillows, sheets and pillow cases are provided.

Dining areas are provided in each wing but the Grindslow Wing will provide sufficient seating for residents of the whole Centre.

The table tennis table lives in the Grindslow Wing. Bats and balls supplied.

The leader's rooms have two beds, en-suite shower and sink.

In the lounge and chill out areas there is comfortable seating and loads of floor cushions. All furniture is movable and you can arrange things as you want. There are more floor cushions than you could easily count! The central heating is comprehensive and can be overridden by you.  A wide selection of books and some board games are provided and the lounges have DVD players (but no broadcast TV!)DVDs are kept in the resources store and we have a copyright licence that covers you to show them.

The kitchens are equipped with catering gas ranges, microwave ovens, water boilers, fridge freezers and all pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, chopping boards, food thermometers and utensils.
Tea towels, detergent and cleaning products are also provided.

Communication is provided via a wireless broadband available throughout the Centre. There is a Payphone in the entrance hall (01433 670277) and an Orange mobile phone signal in the valley.

There are First Aid Kits in the entrance hall, kitchens and craft room.

There is a self service shop selling all sorts of (to the adult eye) awful things, but the kids love them.
